Can I Wear Pantyhose with Sandals?
A:It would be best if you skipped the hose, but if you're not comfortable doing that try to find a super sheer, nude color. Get them to match your skintone exactly so it will look like you're not wearing any, and don't forget the sandalfoot variety. Two other options are fishnet hose and toeless hose.
Q: Dear Portia,
I'm 16. I'm short.I'm a bit of a rock chick, my style is quite bold. A normal outfit for me would be a pair of baggy moto jeans with love heart detail on a pocket, a vintage iron maiden t-shirt, a suit jacket, a pair of converse tennis shoes and lots of bright, chunky,tacky braclets.
I wear baggy jeans with tight hips to show off my hour glass figure but I cant seem to find tighter jeans that fit me in length that do the same and the baggy jeans tend to make me look shorter than I am. I shop at department stores alot but they rarely have jeans to fit my length. I've tried 3/4 length jeans with converse tennis shoes but they just make my legs look skinny.
Do you have any suggestions to make me look a little bit taller with out making my legs look too thin?

Im loving your rock chic look! Unfortunately, there really is a lack of stylish petite clothing around.
The best advice I can give is to buy a pair of jeans that fit really well around the hips, bottom and thighs and take the jeans to be shortened. There are two key things to remember though:
1. Make sure that the seamstress uses the same colour thread on the hem as originally used, when a different colour is used it tends to make the jeans look cheap and makes it glaringly obvious they have been altered.
2. Secondly wear a pair of your heels when having your jeans measured for alteration, ask for the length to inish about 3 to 4 cm from the ground this will give the illusion of longer length in the leg, the longer length will also look great with your converse.

1. First, recognize that punk is a state of mind. Yes, the subculture does have a specific fashion to it, but read up on the history of punk, what the word means, who the original bands were, etc. If you live in a city, find out whether or not there are punks and observe them. Look at what they are wearing and how they are acting- note details that you like, and details that you think are awful. Keep up with politics. Read the newspaper. Know what's going on in the world. Being punk isn't an excuse to be ignorant. Look at the different hairstyles worn in the subculture throughout the years. One of the most popular, even today, is the mohawk- shaved sides with a strip of hair running down the middle, sprayed up into spikes or a fan. Brightly colored hair is popular, and so are "liberty" or "chaos" spikes. Consider getting a vest or a jacket and putting patches on it. Advertise the music you listen to, and your political ideals. Focus on the music. Punk music is very diverse, and it factions off and connects with other genres such as psychobilly and hardcore. Find bands you like, and support them.
